Basics

The Uniden Bearcat BC355N Police Scanner is the ultimate low cost, basic mobile police scanner that can pick up analog receptions from police and emergency responders.

(PLEASE NOTE: The Uniden Bearcat scanner model BC355N can only pick up analog transmissions. If you live in an area where trunking or digital radio systems are used, you need to upgrade to the Uniden model BCD996P2 – the “D” stands for digital).

The Uniden Bearcat scanner model BC355N is capable of monitoring 300 channels. The Bearcat Scanner features the “Close Call RF Capture Technology,” which instantly tunes to signals from nearby transmitters. The pre-programmed service search also makes it easier to find active frequencies.

The Uniden scanner model BC355N also comes complete with a backlit display, making it easier to read in low light conditions, along with AC adapters, a DC power cable and an automotive power outlet plug, giving you more options for supplying power at home or in your car.

If you’re looking for a low cost way to jump into the world of police scanners, the Uniden Bearcat BC355N may be the right choice for you. Visit www.policescanners.net or call us at 1-800-SCANNER to see if your area still uses analog transmitters.

5 of 5 Nice Scanner February 15, 2017

I only wish that you could set priority to channels. Other than that this is an awesome scanner. I have it set up as a base station with an exterior antenna.

Reviewer: Greg Souza from Missoula, MT United States
Can't input certain freq's in private bank???Can't input 154.370,154.355,154.250,their is about 20 freq I can't install, when I try say 154.370 the scanner jumps from say 154.200 to 154.400,so 154.370 can't be inputted.I like the unit but can't input certain freqs.

5 of 5 The BC355N is a good base scanner January 10, 2015
Reviewer: John Menges from Watseka, IL United States
The BC355N does what I bought it to do: receive local emergency and railroad frequencies. Unlike a handheld scanner that wears out on certain frequencies if you leave it on a lot for several years, a base scanner like the BC355N will keep receiving often-used frequencies for the life of the unit.

5 of 5 BC355N January 10, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from St. Clair Shores, MI United States
This product is great.  My only problem is that when I called to get the right model, the gentleman suggested this model. Unfortunately, this model does not get my local police department(St. Clair Shores, MI). after 5 calls I talked with Greg in the programming department and he explained that I need a "digital" model BCD996XT, which is $439.95.  I paid $99.95 for the model that was recommended.  I am very disappointed with the gentleman I originally talked to because I bought this for my 81 year old father and he really likes listening to the local police.  I cannot afford the correct model and my father can't either. How disappointing that I have to send his Christmas gift back and find something new.
