The SDS200 is the world's most advanced scanner radio! Incorporating a Software Defined Radio (SDR) and "True I/Q" technology to provide superior digital decoding, even in challenging simulcast areas to the huge fully customizable color display, this radio has just about everything one needs to easily monitor local action.

With the built-in updatable database one can easily enter a ZIP Code and instantly reprogram the radio for any area in the USA or Canada. Mobile users can use the optional GPS unit to automatically set the location for no-hands reprogramming. This is great for long-haul drivers, RVers or your summer vacation.

Listen to police, fire, EMS, aviation, railroads or almost any type of radio traffic with ease. You can use the built-in database or do your own custom programming, either by using the free Sentinel software or our acclaimed ARC-536 software. You can even program by hand directly from the front panel of the radio.

Not interested in programming or updating the radio yourself? No problem! Let our team of crack programmers do it for you! Select the Setup and Optimize option and we will custom program the radio for your area, update the database and radio firmware. (This is a paid service and will delay delivery time).

If you need special modulation types like DMR/TRBO, NXDN or ProVoice we can add those too, select these options at purchase. (These are paid updates and will delay delivery time) These modes are not used everywhere so check with our staff to see if they are needed in your area.

About our Set-up & Optimize Service
With Scanner Master's exclusive Set-up & Optimize service we see to it that your SDS200 is fully updated and ready to use for your area, perfect for your own use and especially perfect for a gift. First we optimize the internal database by updating the frequency library, which changes daily. We will also check and install any firmware updates to the HomePatrol before the radio ships. (The firmware is the operating system for the radio which may have been updated or tweaked by the factory following its production in Asia.) Scanner Master will then build a Favorites List for the customer (based on the ship to address of your order), or for the area in which the scanner will be used if the customer specifies a different city and county (for example if the radio is given as a gift). Scanner Master will also pre-tune the radio by entering the end-users zip code.

Note that this service will add approximately 14 to 21 business days for processing before the radio will be shipped.

I do not recommend buying the SDS200. It does not have audio AGC. If one side of a P25 conversation, for example, is barely audible and you use the channel volume offset function to be able to hear it, the originally normal-volume side of the conversation will be blasting loud. This is very frustrating for a radio which costs so much money. I disagree with the descriptions "world's most advanced scanner" and "top-notch performance". No matter how amazing any other features are, they are not important if the audio is very unsatisfactory. I am very disappointed with the SDS200.

This Scanner is amazing. I had the 100 and wanted the 200. This unit has everything you could want and more. Speaker is also much better than the 100. As I reviewed the 100 I will also state the same issue that I've found with both Uniden SDS models. The filters that may or may not have to be used are awful to deal with, depending on your area. I spend a lot of time going through them. Sometime once a day sometime multiple times a day. I hope Uniden will create a firmware fix for this at some point, but time will tell. Other than that, it's an amazing unit. I enjoy mine and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

SDS200 arrived ready to go; I just attached the antenna, ac adapter and turned it on. It started scanning the pre-programmed list right away. The ScannerMaster team did an excellent job at setting up my county preferences, updating the firmware and putting in the waterfall upgrade. 5/5 and would recommend to anyone thinking of buying a scanner. Very professional and pleasure to do business with!

Attach power cord & antenna; turn it on. I let them program it. I just turned it on and heard what I wanted. That's all I had to do. Spectacular results with NO effort. Do yourself a favor, let them program it - they are experts - you will have a "learning curve" going by yourself.

I ordered my scanner on a Thursday afternoon and received it on Saturday, fully programmed! Fast delivery! It is everything I expected and more. There is a steep learning curve to fully understand and work all the potential this radio has, but I am looking forward to enjoying it. I have had to call a couple of times with questions, and one of their experts, Rich, has been most patient with me. This scanner is top notch and so is Scanner Master!
