Basics

This slim, handsome 7 3/4 inch long rubber-duck antenna provides a great reception boost on 700 and 800 MHz channels over stock antennas. Available in the SMA connection only for Uniden 396 and 346T and XT models. Whether you're monitoring in this band trunked or conventional channels, analog or digital, this antenna is a fantastic choice. Testing at our office confirmed the pulling power of this antenna was on par, in some cases, with outdoor roof-mounted wide-band scanner antennas - we were pulling in the Rhode Island State trunking system from 15 or so miles away! (your results may vary). So impressed were we with the performance of the antennas that we purchased a very large quantity and thus we're able to offer them to you at a very reduced price.

This antenna gave me 3 more bars than the stock antenna on my Uniden BCD396XT. This is off of the Ohio State MARCS 700 Mhz system about 15 miles away from the tower.

5 of 5 Best bang for the buck July 25, 2014
Reviewer: Thomas Osbon from Knoxville, MD United States
I recently bought this antenna to replace the one that came with my BCD436HP and I was very impressed with its performance. It may not take advantage of all the threads on the scanners sma connector but it has zero effect on scanner or antenna performance. I live in a very mountainous area and I was not able to recieve the signals I wanted to hear, but this little jewel did the trick, it also does well with frequencies below 800MHz. I am now pulling in signals from over 50 miles away. Buy this antenna, you wont regret it.

5 of 5 It really does the job! March 6, 2014
Reviewer: Kenneth Mueller from Appleton, WI United States
Our area recently went digital so I purchased the new uniden portable scanner. I've used several antenna's with mixed results. An extendable antenna seemed to work best but I sometimes take it in the car so I would prefer a flexible antenna. I saw this antenna and its claims but the reviews were mixed. The biggest complaint was that it didn't screw in all the way to the base of the scanner, which is irrevalent as long as the main components inside the antenna and the scanner make contact, which they do. I decided to give it a try and I'm very pleased with the results. I can listen to everything in my area with clarity. The base of the antenna should have been longer, but that's just cosmetics. It actually does what it claims to do so I'm giving it 5 stars.
